Let's be real, choosing a therapist is hard. You're here to start your therapy journey and are trying to making a decision based on a website bio. I'm on the other side hoping my text blurb will convince you that I'm the therapist for you. What a perfect system! (not) With all that in mind, I encourage you to reach out so we can get to know each other authentically and explore whether our work together could help you reach your goals. If you appreciate a therapist who emphasizes your strengths, helps you build insight, and teaches you to challenge that negative voice in your head, (with a little sarcasm), I might be your girl
My background and training includes being a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), clinically trained at Simmons University's graduate school of Social Work in Boston, MA. I also obtained post-masters basic training in EMDR therapy through Trauma Therapist Institute. I specialize in helping people process and find healing from trauma and some of the most difficult memories and moments within their lives. I have extensive experience working in community based and hospital settings, and have spent much of my career honing my skills with children, adolescents and adults across the lifespan. I strive to use my expertise to help others find healing from childhood and relationship trauma, and present stressors to improve their quality of life and relationships with others.
Additionally I am passionate about helping equestrians master the challenges they experience with their equine partners. As a lifelong equestrian and clinically trained psychotherapist, I am in the unique position to both expertly understand the psychological stressors, anxieties and fears you may experience in and out of the saddle while also having first hand experience and knowledge of the equine world.
Other specialty treatments I offer include canine and equine assisted EMDR and psychotherapy. I am holding a waitlist for equine assisted therapy which will be available this fall.
Our world is a challenging place under the best of circumstances. If you are seeking support within your own world, I encourage you to reach out to me for a free 15 minute consultation to learn how I can aid in your process. Finding a new therapist can be overwhelming and intimidating, but your wellness is worth it and I'm here to help.
